There is total darkness in the centre of the Damongo township as the operator of street lights in the Savannah regional capital served notice he wont be putting on the lights from tonight.
Fatawu Osman has been using a naked wire to put on the street lights in Damongo for over one and half years after the circuit breaker fused.
Osman told Pad news he wont be putting on the lights again as his life and that of the community is in danger because anytime he uses the naked wire, sparks of fire is seen on the circuit which can cause fire.
He said the municipal assembly and VRA have refused to replace the fused circuit breaker after many reports.
He has since carried out his threat and the centre the Savannah regional capital is dark.
