Agbonifo Christian well known in the show biz as Rex D Baba, is a Nigerian artist but Ghana based .
Rex D has appealed to the world to invest and promote the upcoming musicians instead of spending so much time to hype the ruling superstars who the world is aware of their best.
He urged musicians to keep doing what they know best because keeping the fire burning throughout your career is almost impossible. Feeling fade off in the entertainment industry is a feeling of any musician who’s been performing professionally for a long time.
Speaking during an interview on PADFm 95.1mhz Damongo in the Savannah region entertainment show, “Know Your Artist” with Anna B, the Adura hitmaker said ” access to finance is the most challenging aspect of music”.
He opined that no matter how super talented you are without finance, no one will recognize your efforts. Stand on your feet, work on yourself and fight for financial support by yourself.
Rex D is also calling on young musicians to feel motivated because feeling unmotivated as an underground artist is very bad. Just recall what made you decide to go this path at the first place and by doing so will give you some strength to hang on.
All the great Musicians we know and heard of have been like you before.
If you stopped now it means you won’t get on top. Never wallow in self-pity and doubt your choices. Keep on moving with a healthy mindset.
If you wanted to do music as full-time job and make a name then you have to be confident enough and financially stable so that your talent will sustain you in the industry.
According to the Superstar, Ghana has a long way to go with fashion and fans attendance for entertainment shows.
When ask to compare Nigeria to Ghana in terms of entertainment promotion, the songwriter said, Nigeria is fast and cheaper. Ghana population is lesser than Nigeria but you can use Gh3,000 to get your fame all over Nigeria where Ghana TV stations will be charging you like Gh4,000 just to promote a video which doesn’t help the upcoming artists at all.
They organize shows every weekend where the undergrounds artists are respected and exposed to meet and perform with the top artists which Ghana is not doing.
He concluded by pleading with the public, DJs, promoters, bloggers , presenters and many more to assist in the revelation of the upcoming artists or hidden talent to the world.
