As part the first anniversary celebration of the Savannah Consultative Forum, members of the forum has donated bags of rice, cooking oil, tomatoes paste and some soft drinks to the a Damongo based orphanage known as Redemption Children Home.
The items was presented on behalf of the members by Mr Saaka Abdul Razak who is the secretary of the forum.
In a short address before the donation, Mr Razak said the Savannah Consultative Forum was founded on 8th December 2019, with Dr. Bukari Francis Issahaku
Malongza, a Senior lecturer at the University for Development Studies as the Convener bringing together scholars, professionals, businessmen and women of the Savannah Region, resident in Ghana and abroad, who have agreed to come together to contribute their ideas and resources for the promotion of the peace and development of the Savannah region.
Mr Razak said the Savannah Consultative Forum is celebrating it’s First Anniversary, which began from 8th December, 2020
He added that the donation was part of the program of activities for the First Anniversary hence they are donating food items to the Damongo orphanage and will later do a similar donation to the Sawla orphanage.
Mr Razak revealed that the items cost the Savannah Consultative Forum an amount of Ghc 4,038.00
He said the donation was organised by the Gender, Children and Social Inclusion Committee of the Savannah Consultative Forum.
The items were received by pastor Abraham who is the founder of the orphanage.
Pastor Abraham thanked the Savannah Consultative Forum for the donation.
The children were happy and excited for the gifts and extended their appreciation to the Savannah Consultative Forum for the donation.
